11 Entries for Kalaranna Architecture Competition
February 1 was the deadline for the architecture competition for 1 Kalaranna Street with altogether 11 entries submitted.
The chairman of the board of Pro Kapital Grupp AS Paolo Michelozzi said that they had been expecting to get a general architectural concept for the area and also a more detailed vision of the buildings and facilities.
According to the detailed plan, there should be a permanent beach promenade with public spaces including the solutions for the built-up area allowing the district to develop into a comprehensive whole in keeping with the general urban space of Tallinn.
“The entrants and results will be announced on February 20 once the jury has analysed the project and selected the solutions best meeting the visions of the detailed plan,” Michelozzi said.
The awards for the winning entries amount to 60,000 euros. Negotiations for the design contract with the competition winners will follow.
The jury members of Kalaranna architecture competition include representatives of the Union of Estonian Architects, Tallinn City Planning Department and AS Pro Kapital Eesti.
